Why do ReactJS developers hate jQuery?

I am currently working with 2 hot headed JavaScript developers. They both eat, drink, breath and shit ReactJS 24x7. Whenever I use jQuery in our project, they secretly re-write it to React or pure JavaScript way. :/

Is it really bad to use jQuery in a React project?
