Why do colleges still teach C and C++ when you can't even build anything with these programming languages?

I know that you get to learn about fundamentals and DS and Algo, but it's so pointless when you don't even use it in real world? Instead JS allows you to build projects and get instant satisfaction of interacting with your applications.
