What's the advantage of using any front-end framework like 'Angular' or 'React' over VanillaJS?

VanillaJs was doing fine earlier. So, what made developers to create frameworks like 'Angular' or 'React'? I mean VanillaJS is so easy to understand compared to these frameworks?
