Before starting this blog we should first know what is a portfolio website?🤔
-A portfolio website is the best and unique way to showcase your experience, projects and yourself. It's just a small summary of the work you have done so far. It is important for every developer to have his/her portfolio website. Not just for getting a good job but to build your identity.
But wait..you must be thinking about, why I need a portfolio website? I have my resume/cv, my LinkedIn profile...😟
Below are some of the important points:
A portfolio website will help you a lot. It will make you unique from others. It will show your creativity and knowledge.
The work that you will add to your website will surely help you in finding a good job. If someone has to hire you, he/she can see your portfolio online and will hire you accordingly. It is important to add important things to your website. For example- work experience, education, blogs, projects(most important) and your skills and many more things.
How to take the first step🤔?
-Your first step is to create an easy layout for your website on a sheet of paper or anywhere you are comfortable and then start implementing it. It is very important to have a small layout in your mind before building a website.
There are a lot of important things that should be included in a portfolio website📝
- Your picture and name
- Basic tagline about yourself like "full-stack developer, Front-end developer, freelancer..".
- About- Your website should have an about section where you will introduce yourself. You can also attach your CV here after giving your introduction.
- Projects- Till now how many projects have you done, explain the projects in 3-5 sentences as per your choice.
- Skills- Here you can mention the skills that you have expertise in. For example- HTML5,JavaScript,MongoDB...
- Courses- You can add certificates of courses you have done.
- Achievements- Just mention what have you achieved till now maybe any competition or scholarships.
⭐These are some of the points that will make your portfolio website perfect.
Note- The points I have mentioned above are important but you can also add more according to your choice.
In the end, I would like to say that before building your portfolio website, it is very important to make sure it is effective, pretty and easy to functional. Also, choosing the right tools is important for building your website.
According to me, HTML and CSS and JavaScript are the best tools for beginners. After choosing all this,the next thing is a domain name and hosting🚀
