What are the benefits of using AngularJS / Dart ?

I'm seeing Angular springing up everywhere, but looking at how complex it is and how heavy it is, I'm hesitant to invest time in it.

So in short, what are the benefits of using AngularJS / Dart VS just using straight jQuery / Dart ?
