Web development is the work involved in developing a website for the internet. It is the building and maintenance of websites. It can range from developing a simple single static page of plain text to a complex Web - based Internet Applications and social network services. Web development is the work that happens behind the scenes to make a website look great , work fast and perform well with a seamless user experience.

Web development skills are in high demand world wide and well paid too making it a great career option. Web development is broken into two parts. We have the Fron-End web development and Back-End web development.

Frontend web development is the practice of converting data to a graphical interface so that users can view and interact with the data. Backend web development refers to the server side of an application and everything that communicates between the database and the browser. It is the skill that powers the web.

A web developer is a programmer who focuses on the building of World wide Web applications. They do this by using a variety of coding languages. The languages they use depends on the type of tasks they are performing and on the platforms on which they are performing or working. There are three types of web developers and they are the:

Front-End Developer:

The front end of a website is the part users interact with. A front-end developer develops website and applications using web technologies for non web platform environment.

Back-End Developer:

A back end developer is the person no one really knows about. Back-End developers are responsible for the inner workings of web applications to build out the "server-side" of web applications. Server side is the language that runs behind the scenes on the web server or the Back-End.

Full Stack Developer:

A full stack web developer is a person who can develop both client and server software.

To become a web developer, the first step is to decide which aspect of web development Interests and then start out with it. If you are interested in frontend you can start by learning HTML and CSS, then work on projects after learning the basics. Joining communities of other web developer is also very helpful.
