I am a JavaScript developer with 3 years of experience. I have got good hold on the vanilla JavaScript and can easily understand use any framework (React.js, Angular). 
I have a capability to build a full fledged website using MERN stack. I have various ideas that I want to pursue. Should I quit my job?

Something inside me says that I should try and build my own app, build userbase and convert it to a startup. What&#39;s your advice?

The smartest thing unless you can afford to live with no revenues for 6-12 months is to build your app on your free time. Get at least to a working MVP and get it out there to see traction, before you think about quitting your job. Stories of apps going from 0 to million users are often overhyped over all the guys that never made it. Knowing how to program is different than building your own app, having to deal with sales, marketing and managing a business. You can learn the hard way by jumping in or you can take it step by step while making sure you don&#39;t ruin yourself.

If yes, I would advice you to continue working with the current employer. I mean if the pay is good, you are enjoying working there, you are challenged and the product has an impact in people&#39;s lives what else would you look for, unless if working on the new idea will surpass your current role in terms of these attributes.
