Self hosted knowledge base

We are looking for a lightweight knowledge base system, with roughly these requirements:

  • self hosted. This is a rock hard requirement.
  • lightweight. We don’t need super fancy editing engines nor real time collaboration. The smaller the footprint the better.
  • searchable. As we are going officeless soon, the search feature must be very good, including whatever measures you may imagine. Tags, fuzzy matching, and the likes. If it involves ElasticSearch or something along this line, so be it.
  • dockerizable (is that a word?) Our whole infrastructure runs on Docker, so if we could put such a thing in a container, that’s a big plus (although this one is not a show stopper)
  • mutable. This seems obvious, but with so much hype around immutable stuff these days (cryptocurrencies, anyone?) i think it worth a mention. I should be able to edit the entries of my colleague and vice versa, but it should be visible that i did. If it even has history, or edits that must be approved, that’s even better.

Do you use such a system, or develop one? It’s time to reply on this post 😉
