Is it worth learning JS for the future?

Hi, I'm someone interested in web development and would like to make a living out of it. I read and watched all kinds of resources for the past days to know that JS is currently the hottest language of the web. However, some are saying that it's days are counted because there is WebAssembly in development. So I would like to if it's worth learning Javascript today for the future, or should I start with a different language
