How to monetize an open-source project?

Hello everyone,

A couple of months back, I had released OwnStore: An end-to-end e-commerce solution to help businesses set up their online store instantly with a few configurable projects.

I started developing this project just to learn the concepts of building an entire solution end-to-end but then realized I could serve this to customers also. Worked on it almost for almost a year after my 9-to-5 job and even on weekends.

Learn more about this project here: ownstore.dev

This project wasn't a success IMHO. But I knew 1 thing: the quality of code I had used to develop was beyond industry standards. I'm still really of its scalable and maintainable architecture. Code is the true USP here.

People didn't show much interest when this was a paid product, but surprisingly all this changed as soon as I open-sourced it. Maybe not the product but the code had an impact here.

Because of the effort I had put in for this project, I might lose my full time here. So I'm trying to find out a way to monetize this project or get any good opportunity.

Please let me know.

Thanks, Faiyaz
