How many of you don't care about the battle between front-end JavaScript frameworks?

Do you think sometimes it makes sense to use plain vanillaJS rather than heavy MV* frameworks? I believe in most cases we can just pick up a small library for "data binding" and decide the structure/architecture ourselves. What do you think?
