How do you estimate your work?

I have a huge problem with estimates, I am completely overwhelmed by how uncertain and changing things are cannot come up with even a vague estimates. I want to know if you are also required to estimate as the part of your job? If yes, what tools and techniques do you use to come up with one?

Any tips and tricks are highly welcome!
