How did you decide what field in the tech world you'd want to specialize in?

I still didn't make that decision yet because of how big the tech world is. so I'm wondering how did you all decided what field in the tech world you want to specialize in ? and if you didn't have the luxury of choosing, how did you end up with the job title you have (or had)?
