Two years ago when I started my college journey as a student I can hardly remember a single woman in our development cell. Today almost 45% of developers are women.

Introduction

In 2020 I was admitted in a tire3 engineering college where this kind of awareness were very poor. At that time we just focused on web development and created a group in our college. Where majority were my male friends and colleagues. When we built our Software production house in our college I saw the gender gap. On the other hand we also needed some female person to create decent advertising content.

Steps of execution

As soon as we felt the discrimination we started taking steps for that by sending notice individually. But it was not a good approach as we got only a few female ally. After that we started a education community where we got all of our friend and juniors and started various kind of workshops and events by many alumni especially female developers. Thus we started motivating them

Got special kick from hackathons

We started participating in several hackathons by team up with 4-5 member along with 2-4 female alleys. Thus we built confidence among them. After some hackathons we noticed that our female developers started participating individually or team up with their own responsibilities which made us glad. Started organising hackathons and started encouraging other female developers just like a chain reaction

Contribution we got

We noticed gradually they are emerging in our development group as active contributors. Together we started building our coding club's website, some web-apps and some useful softwares. Our female alleys took some responsibilities and amazed us with their creativity. Now we are together, managing events in better way than earlier. Beside our college we started doing events in our locality and other nearby colleges.

conclusion

Now we are in 2nd year and got a wholesome community without any gender discrimination . almost 45% of our community is built by women and almost in every part they are involved. Few days ago together we started 1 week long workshop on blockchain development and we are participating in some hackathons related to blockchain technology.

Hope we can successful to our mission. Ain't it a part of #womenwhotech ?
