Do you think Angular 2 is in the wrong path? How excited are you to try it out?

I am one of the Angular 1.x fan. I made my first SPA website using AngularJS. However, after listening to many hate dialogues, I am wondering if it is really in the wrong direction.

Can somebody summarise what they are trying to do and how can it be better/worse than Angular 1.x?
