I am from time to time considering exchanging my MacBook 2013 13&quot; (8gb RAM, i7) to a newer MacBook 12&quot;, but I&#39;m insecure if it will be too slow for me?
My setup is PHPStorm, which is probably the most heavy application I use. Besides that I run a VirtualBox with Debian for my development which has CLI only and Apache + PHP + MariaDB.
I also use SequelPro, Skype, Chrome and Outlook.
Some people have reported that this MacBook due it&#39;s M processor is too slow to work on. Unfortunately Apple would most likely not let me test it before I buy it :P
I do have another more powerful laptop for my work, but I am considering this as my lighter travel option, where I&#39;m currently on my MacBook Air.
