I have heard lots of times "we can not do improvements, we need to overcome the present day". Sometimes I have listened they were solving work load from yesterday or even from farther. When that happens, I always have the same question on my mind: How do you think things are going to become better? Are you going to do nothing?

It is surprising how the answer, with actions, to that questions is yes, we are not going to do a thing!

The problem is about resources; it is necessary resources to do new things, which lead us to use the minimum resources and use them to produce more. These should be the first improvements if you have a scarcity of resources. If you do not have air into your lungs and do not take steps to overcome it, from sure you will suffer in agony which will lead you to the worst ending.

An excellent way for learning as much as possible is defining continuous improvement in companies where are using agile techniques. They are used to creating more with less. Agile businesses can reach higher efficiency, and on that way, we can learn valuable lessons from it, which we will use where we need.
