What if one uses just AWS Amplify Hosting?

Using Amplify to build the app is a requirement. One of the goals of this hackathon is to see you build the app and not just host it.

This is awesome. Too bad I just saw it and there isn't much time left. There are only two days left to create a project. I don't know anything about AWS Amplify, but I will start learning. Maybe I can compete next year.
Can we participate in the hackathon and then submit the project and then when it is in review phase but results are not published yet, can we modify some things ?? The main objective of my project is almost done and there are some changes that are needed to be done. In order to polish things up. Can we change the source after submission. Thank you.
