Helpful tips! Hey Sam Sycamore, which application do you use to make your cover images?
Thanks for reading Anirudh Panda! I use Figma.
How can you make a promise or be provocative when writing a technical article?
Great question!
The promise could be as simple as "How to..." — it's not the most exciting recipe, but it works.
Being provocative in this context can be tough, and it's also not always necessary or even ideal given the tone and style you're aiming for.
Think about what kinds of problems your target reader is facing, and try addressing those directly. Consider something like:
Stop Wasting Time on Slow Gatsby Builds and Upgrade to Next.js
Everyone who's had to endure a super slow Gatsby build will be able to relate to this on an emotional level. It's so frustrating!
And you're promising to solve the problem by showing them how to migrate to Next.js.
I hope that helps!
Awesome article!
Thanks!!
Such an amazing piece 👏🏾
This was a great read!! Thank you so much for sharing.
Hi Sam, Thank you for this. I have articles I've not been able to publish cause I feel I need to review my already existing articles but with this, I'm back to writing.
Thank you.
Love the bit about making a promise to the reader. This blog post title Jedi-mind-tricked me into spending the time to read it, and I didn’t realize it until about halfway through. Awesome work!
I have gotten really valuable tips from your article and truly the title actually got me 😅, so it definitely worked!
Amazing content.. learnt a lot. Thanks for sharing.
And when the title stings a little, you're even happier to have read it when you realize it'll actually help you.
Great article, Sam!
