What is Parcel.js and how it's faster than webpack?

I've been using Parcel and was quite happy to ditch Webpack, because it's Make of our times (nobody knows how to write Makefiles, jhust like nobody knows how to write Webpack configs - people just copy them). Unfortunately, I had to move back to Webpack, because parcel was so Mac-centric, it was completely unusable on Linux. I hope they fixed it.
